SMART Board Notebook Lesson for the Year of the Ox

This year’s Lunar New Year falls on the 12th of February & it’s the Year of the Ox.

According to astrologers, the Ox is the second animal of the Chinese zodiac and denotes hard work, positivity, and honesty. Hopefully, these traits will manifest in all of us in the coming 12 months.

And this year will be more grounded than the Year of the Rat in 2020!

I thought I would share this fun SMART Notebook activity from the SMART Exchange that might inspire you and your students.

The lesson celebrates the Lunar New Year with the zodiac folktale and discovering how animals are used as symbols. Students will complete a Zodiac Calendar, read a version of the zodiac folktale, create an acrostic poem about their personality traits related to their zodiac animal.

We hope you and your students enjoy this wonderful lesson!
