SMART Learning Suite Online
Hi, my name is Ryan. I work for Smart Technologies. And today we’re going to talk about Smart Learning Suite you’re SMART Learning Suite subscription includes interactive lessons game-based learning, formative assessments and collaborative workspaces. It offers both a desktop and online experience.
And today we’re going to focus on that online experience called SMART Learning Suite Online. Now that provides cloud-based access to SMART’s world leading education software. It lets teachers open interactive lessons anywhere, on any device and share them with any student device as well to sign in to Smart Learning Suite Online. Go to suite.smarttech.com and sign in with any Google or Microsoft account. This means you can use your existing school email and password.
Now we’ve signed into Smart Learning Suite online and this is my Lesson Lobby. I can add new content by clicking this green icon here. My class ID is clearly visible up here at the top all the content that you see here is a mixture of PDF, PowerPoint and Notebook files.
That means that teachers who have already created content in other applications like PowerPoint or PDFs don’t have to go recreating their content use Smart Learning Suite Online. They can also make static lessons interactive by adding activities as well. I mentioned before my class ID is listed at the top of my page here.
All students have to do to connect from any device is go to Hellosmart.com and enter the (my)class ID and (their)name now. I’m going to click this icon. This is where I go to upload my content. Again this could be Notebook, PowerPoint or PDF files
Now my lessons been uploaded and I’m in creation mode which gives me the tools to further edit my lesson. I can drag and drop pages, rename files and delete pages. I can also add an activity and an assessment and I can make any page an interactive activity page for students.
It can be both independent activities which means each student has their own individual copy or collaborative activity, which is a shared space amongst all students.
Now, we’re going to jump into one of my lessons.
All of my connected students immediately receive a copy of the lesson. I have a variety of tools that will allow me to interact with my lesson. I can move things around, draw and erase. This icon here will allow me to insert a blank page anywhere or start a shout-it-out activity at any time. This icon will open up my page Sorter. And as you can see I have a variety of different kinds of content here in my lesson from videos to interactive activities to formative assessments.
On the students device they can navigate independently allowing for student paced learning students can also start an independent activity.
You can also turn any page into a collaborative activity. You can do this as you are preparing the lesson in advance and creation mode or on the fly as you are delivering a lesson. To do it on the fly click the class panel and select collaboration activity.
Now select the number of teams.
If you want to, you can rearrange who is in which team as well.
Click Start workspace. This is the teacher dashboard.
I can see my students and their two groups and I can jump into any of these workspaces to see how my students are progressing. I can also provide feedback in those workspaces.
As you can see Smart Learning Suite Online gives teachers instant access to lessons anywhere on any device and share them with any student device.
It allows students to learn at their own pace and sparks engagement inside Active Learning environments Smart Learning Suite Online is part of the entire Smart Learning Suite
